Orchard Creek provides golfers with beautiful panoramic views of the Helderburg Plateau. In the spring, the course is lit up with millions of blooming white flowers on the apple trees, and of course in the fall, ripe apples are free for the taking for any golfer looking to curb their pre-turn snack attack. In 2004, Golf Digest rated Orchard Creek as the Best New Bargain in the Country, and gave it a 4 1/2 star rating.
Despite the beauty of the setting, this is a tough layout. All tee shots require perfect accuracy if you want a shot at the green, there are very few holes where you can afford to miss on your first shot. The apple trees may be small, but the spacing of them is so tight that its almost impossible to hit the green when you wander into them. When you finally make your way to the green, don't ever count on a straight putt; Orchard Creeks greens are some of the fastest and most undulating greens in the area.

Orchard Creek is among the best public courses in the area. 18 holes set amid an working apple orchard with beautiful blooms in the springtime and apples to munch on in the Fall as well as a spectular view of the Helderberg escarpment. Greens are among the fastest and truest of any public course in the area. I've played in a nine hole league here since the course opened in July 1999. It is ranked 4.5 stars by Golf Digest and for good reason--it gets better each year with more flowers and landscaping adding to the natural beauty of the course. Friendly staff in the pro shop and a nice driving range. Unfortunately, the Cider House Restaurant, which used to make the best Bar-B-Q ribs in the area, changed ownership this year and the food now leaves much to be desired although the service is still good. Dining room is very noisy when the place is crowded.

Tough course, but fair. Good shots are rewarded. Always enjoyable.
